Historic Happy Hour: How the American Civil War Changed Medicine

On September 10th, we hosted a captivating Historic Happy Hour event at Old Baldy, featuring Desiree Bridge, an accomplished historian and Customer Liaison at Turtle Central. Her presentation, “How the American Civil War Changed Medicine,” explored the transformative medical advancements that emerged from the conflict, shedding light on how American medicine evolved in response to wartime challenges. Desiree’s talk debunked common myths perpetuated by films and highlighted the significant progress made in medical treatments, offering a fresh perspective on the innovation that arose from the war's grim realities.
