The grounds of Old Baldy Lighthouse and Smith Island Museum provide the ideal blend of historic charm and the island's natural beauty. Old Baldy towers above the spacious lawn shadowed by the majestic, moss-draped, southern live oaks and bordered by tidal estuaries and meandering creeks, creating a whimsical southern setting
for any special occasion.
Special Event Rental Information
Below is the current pricing for event rentals at Old Baldy:
* Please note: The tent fee listed is not a rental fee for the tent itself. This is an additional charge that accounts for the logistical needs of tent setup and takedown, which often require installation prior to the event and removal afterward.
What’s Included
When you book your event at Old Baldy, you are reserving access to the grounds and restrooms only. We do not provide furniture, tents, lighting, or decorations. However, we would be happy to recommend a rental service on Bald Head Island that can assist you with those items.
Booking & Payment Instructions
To move forward with your event reservation, please complete the Event Packet above and return it with a 50% deposit. You may submit your deposit in one of the following ways:

Credit Card: Enter your card information directly in the event packet

Phone Payment: Call the lighthouse office to pay over the phone

Alcohol Policy
If alcohol will be served at your event, liquor liability insurance is required and must be provided as part of your planning process.
