NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY WEEKEND
Join the Old Baldy Foundation as we celebrate National Lighthouse Day over the weekend of August 2nd-4th! Our annual National Lighthouse Day Festival, Run for the Light 5k/10k, and Duck Race are planned along with another festivities to be announced soon!

Annual Old Baldy Duck Race
Adopt a duck for $10 or 11 ducks for only $100 for your chance to win $500 and support the Old Baldy Lighthouse. The ducks will race down the Bald Head Creek on Saturday, August 3rd at 11 am and the owner of the winning duck will win $500! Duck owners do not need to be present at the race to win, we will contact the winner and arrange to get you the prize!
Keep a lookout on the island for our volunteers selling ducks or adopt on online!

National Lighthouse Day Festival and Run for the 5k, 10k and One Mile Fun Run!
Enjoy a reenactment festival with a tribute to the Coast Guard, Lighthouse Keepers, Colonial Living, Pirates, Civil War, and Old Baldy history. The festival will include crafts, games, bbq along with beer and wine for purchase!
The Run for the Light course is a scenic run near coastal dunes and through the maritime forest on Bald Head Island, NC. The whole course features an all-asphalt surface, with splits and water at the 1-, 3- and 5-mile marks. This event is perfect to showcase some of North Carolina’s most beautiful beaches and beach cities – it will be one to mark off your bucket list!
